Hello sunshine
How've you been
I've been better on days like this
When the summer's dawn strikes the human eye
And I think about yesterday and wonder why
What happened to this fire so bright
The firelies blinking into the night
Was it unwelded forever by time
Or did it collapse to untouched rhyme
I remember the times we sat and gazed at the stars
Dreaming and wishing of where-you-ares
Never knowing it would all end up like this
That our universe would go so amiss
What happened to the sunset we shared
And all the hopes we boldly dared
When I see all of you minus all of me
I realize the sunrise I now see
And I think about yesterday and wonder why
The loving Joy we knew had to die
What happened to this love burning in the light
The pretty embers now fading deep into the night
Was it unsung forever by time
Or did it fall to the ground in it's prime
